Why Support The Campaign For Community Legal Services?
Poor people continue to need Community Legal Services Of Mid-Florida (CLSMF) for equal access to justice. They need legal help to collect child support for their children, to protect them from domestic violence, to make sure their children with special needs receive services to get a fair and appropriate education.
To help all these families in our community, CLSMF has just one attorney for every 8,900 poor persons. CLSMF lacks the resources to meet the growing demand for legal help.
Each year, over 2,000 people in Volusia & Flagler who needed our help are turned away
At a cost of less than $350 per case, CLSMF provides desperately needed help to the poorest members of our society: victims of domestic abuse, persons with disabilities, the elderly and the working poor.

CLSMF prevent problems in the future by helping a family moving from welfare to work to insure that it will not again become poor, preventing an eviction through early legal intervention to avoid the much more expensive costs of homelessness. You can help us can save women and children from severe physical and emotional harm and gain access to health care at a critical time that often prevents more serious, and expensive, problems later.
