Last Will and Testament, Advance Directives, and Power of Attorney are common legal documents used to plan for a person’s life and distribute a person’s possessions and estate after death. These documents and the work you must do to create them is sometimes called “life planning.”

Life planning is not something that is only for older people to consider. If you need to create documents like this for yourself or your loved ones, read more here. You may contact the CLSMF Helpline for direct assistance or advice by dialing (800) 405-1417.

You may also find the Florida Bar’s Wills Pamphlet and Probate Pamphlet helpful to understanding how these processes work in Florida.

If you or someone you care about are getting older and would like to learn more about the legal concerns that elders may face, visit the Center for Elders and the Courts webpage.
